Pest control
Our pest control team can offer you advice on how to deal with some common household pests yourself, as well as carrying out treatments for a number of different pests in domestic and commercial premises.
All our pest control officers are fully trained and qualified to industry standards. We are also a member of the National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA).
Treatments
Our pest control service will provide treatments for:
- ants
- bedbugs
- beetles
- birds, including pigeons and gulls (advice only)
- cluster flies
- cockroaches
- earwigs
- fleas
- house mice (only inside your property)
- moles
- moths
- rats
- silverfish
- slugs and snails
- wasps
- woodlice
Some pest treatments will require more than one visit. Standard treatment for rats and mice at a domestic property for example will consist of three visits:
- inspection and baiting or trapping
- follow up visit to replenish bait as required
- final visit to remove bait/traps
Wasps
Wasps are beneficial to the garden. They collect insects and larvae to feed their own developing wasp lavae in their nests during the summer.
By the end of the summer, the worker wasps no longer need to collect food for their young and this is when they can start to become a nuisance to us. A wasp nest by this time of the year may contain 20,000 or more wasps. With the onset of winter, the nests die out and are never reused.
We can provide a treatment if you are concerned about a wasp nest which includes:
- an initial visit and assessment
- advice on possible infestation cause and measures to deal with it
- an insecticidal treatment will be applied if wasp activity is found or suspected
- if possible, the wasp nest will be removed or destroyed
If no treatment is carried out, you will only pay a call-out and survey fee.
